WHGC OBTAINS $2.7M JURY VERDICT FOR WIDOW

On September 24, 2009, WHGC obtained a $2.7M jury verdict in favor of its client for breach of contract and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing arising from the defendant’s refusal to honor a $1.3M promissory note between defendant and the widow’s late husband. The jury rejected the defendant’s claim that the note had been cancelled by the late husband, instead finding the writing of the alleged cancellation to be a forgery and refusing to believe the defendant’s story. WHGC is pleased with this result and the satisfaction that justice has been served for this deserving client.
