Attorney Jeffrey Wang scheduled to speak at Intellectual Property Symposium on May 31st May 25, 2012

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that I will be speaking at the seminar entitled, “Symposium on Development of Intellectual Property Rights & Industrial Strategies” scheduled Thursday, May 31 st 8:30am-5:40pm (GMT +8) at the National Taiwan University (NTU). I personally will be speaking from 2:20pm to 2:40pm (GMT+8)

As patent law is ever changing, it is crucial for law firms and businesses alike to maintain a current understanding of the Supreme Court’s interpretation of patent statutes and the latest patent rulings.

In my presentation, I will offer perspectives and guidance on the Supreme Court Rules on Patent Eligibility, by elucidating a recent case, Prometheus Laboratories Inc. vs. Mayo Collaborative Services that attracted nationwide attention in the medical, pharmaceutical, and software fields.

My speech will shed light on the potentially limiting effect that the Supreme Court’s decision in Prometheus can have on business method patents and related software patents.

Established business with valuable intellectual property may file 100 patents or more per year. Thus, a firm understanding of the intricacies in patent filing may mean life or death to a business.

After our presentations, we will engage in a live question and answer session with participants – so we can answer your questions about these important issues directly.

I hope to see you in Taiwan on May 31st.
